about

As a writer, editor and author, I thrive on bringing to life the sports I love, but can write and manage projects across industries. As a journalist, I've been published in dozens of magazines, including: Backpacker, Cosmo, Details, Fitness, Men's Health, Men's Journal, Mental Floss, Mountain, Outside, Outside Buyer's Guide, Runner's World, Shape, WebMD and others. I've been a contributing editor and columnist for Runner's World, a co-founding and managing editor of Adventure Sports magazine, an associate editor to Trail Runner, and am currently a regular contributor and columnist to Outside and Outside Buyer's Guide. I specialize in writing about running and endurance/adventure sports and love interviewing all types of people, especially those whose voices I can help amplify.

I also write advertising copy, freelance as an editor, and write and manage content marketing projects.

I've written two books: "Running That Doesn't Suck: How To Love Running (Even If You Think You Hate It)" (Running Press, 2019), and “Trailhead: The Dirt on All Things Trail Running,” (VeloPress, 2015).

I also have a Road Runners Club of America coaching certification, and love coaching youth sports of all sorts. I've been a beginning snowboard instructor, youth soccer coach, elementary school running club founder/leader, and high school beach volleyball program coach.
